Behold, God is my helper: the Lord
is with them that uphold my soul.
Psalm 54:4 KJV
Day after day as I sit in my prison cell…
is with them that uphold my soul.
Psalm 54:4 KJV
Day after day as I sit in my prison cell…
…and reflect upon my life as it is now, and as it was during those dark years of mental and demonic oppression, I must give thanks to God. Not only because He has since become my heavenly Father, but He is also the Creator of the entire universe who, at the time of my birth, gently guided me through my mother's womb, and brought me safely into the world.
Yes, this God is my God. He is the One who has kept me alive and in reasonably good health. He has forgiven all my sins through the shedding of the blood of His only begotten Son, Messiah Jesus. He has healed my mind and restored my wounded soul, and He rescued me from the hands of the devil, as well.
And in addition to saving my life from destruction, the Lord has blessed me with many wonderful friends who love me for who I am in Christ. They have faithfully stayed by my side while keeping me in their prayers, and have always been there for me when I needed advice and encouragement. This, I know, is all the Lord's doing; I am exceedingly grateful.
I have known some of these individuals for several decades now, while a number of them have already passed into eternity. But there is yet a heavenly reunion awaiting my friends and me in the future. Of this I am certain. Oh, how I long for this glorious day!
