Today marks the seventeenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks upon the United States...
I watched most of this morning’s memorial service at the former World Trade Center/Twin Towers site where most of the devastation took place, and where the loss of life was the highest.
I usually watch the memorial ceremony and service every year on my television. While it’s a sad and somber event as the name of each victim is read aloud, the tragedy serves to remind me of the brevity of life, and how everyone needs to have a right relationship with God. This is especially true because we never know when we may meet Him.
It was only a handful of months ago when I thought it might be my turn to die. Fortunately for me, it didn’t happen, and I survived a major surgery. I look at life differently now. Never take life for granted was the lesson I got from watching today’s event.
Life is a gift from God. It could come to an end at any moment.
