Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good:
for His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 136:1
The Lord used Psalm 136 to encourage me today...
for His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 136:1
The Lord used Psalm 136 to encourage me today...
He knew I needed this to help lift my spirit. It’s a psalm giving thanks and praise to God. It declares the love He has for His people, and that His mercy will endure forever.
Yet in spite of these wonderful truths, we will sometimes have to go through difficult circumstances, as the Lord did with the Israelites. He led them through the wilderness and not around it. He also led them across the Red Sea and not over it. He parted the sea so they could cross, but at the same time, there were huge walls of water on either side.
It must have been scary to travel across the seabed not knowing if the water would suddenly come crashing down, killing them. Yet they continued to walk by faith, one step at a time until they made it to the other side.
By faith, they overcame their natural fear. It’s an example for us to do the same - to walk by faith and not by sight. Ultimately, the battle can only be won if we do not quit.
