The Lord is good to all: and His tender
mercies are over all His works.

As has been the custom since the first anniversary of the attacks, many will gather in Lower Manhattan at a spot that had been known as "Ground Zero" but is now the newly constructed Freedom Tower, to remember and honor those who died.
Each year, the 9/11 memorial service would be covered live by at least several major media outlets and can be watched on television, or heard on some radio stations. A sad and somber event, while the names of all who died would be slowly read aloud, one name at a time.
Every year since, I've listened to some or all of the memorial service. When I was at my former facility, I would listen to it over the radio. Now that I'm at Shawangunk, where I have a small TV set, I can watch it. It's a humbling experience seeing survivors and family members of those who lost a loved one shedding tears and speaking the names of their loved ones with choked voices.
Listening and watching, I could see the deep anguish these people had; I could feel their pain, even if I could not comprehend their loss. This year I could only take about an hour's worth of viewing before I decided to turn off the television, and quietly pray.
