God's Work

I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be forever:

It's a sunny morning here in the Hudson Valley...

But it's a little too hot for me still. A few weeks ago, it seemed as if fall was soon to arrive. Then the heat and humidity quickly returned.

I have spent much of the morning catching up on my correspondence and washing clothes as well. While this afternoon, I'm hoping to head to the prison's chapel for our scheduled time of worship. Several outside guests are due, and it's always a joy to meet with them and fellowship together.

As with many churches throughout the world, the congregation here at Shawangunk has been praying for all those who have been impacted by the recent hurricanes which struck Texas and Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands. And we've been praying for those who are suffering as a result of the earthquakes in Mexico.

It's unfortunate, but tragedies do happen, but each one gives the body of Christ an opportunity to pray for those who are hurting as well as assist them with supplies. It's God's love at work.
