One good thing of having this online journal is that I am able to discuss various matters and address different issues when I feel the need to do so...
And this brings me to the matter of so called "Son of Sam" items, and alleged items, that supposedly come up on occasion for sale, much of this on the Internet.
I am writing about it, now because of a recent letter I received from a man in Texas. In his letter he wrote the following:
"Mr. Berkowitz... I have read several articles about you.
I was wondering how much you would charge to make a
necklace? Also please advise how I would get the money
to you? Or a painting, whichever you can do..."
I might average about a dozen of these kinds of letters each year. I discard them and never reply. Why? Because I do not have anything for sale, and I have never had anything for sale and for personal profit. God forbid!
I don't do artwork. I have absolutely no artistic talent and can neither draw nor paint. I do not make cards or jewelry. I would never do anything like this as it is against my own principles. Yes, even though I am a convicted felon and am in prison for very serious crimes, which I deeply regret, there are certain things I would never do. Selling crime-related and personal items is one of them.
More tomorrow.
