And let us not be weary in well doing: for in
due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:9
Earlier today, I went to the chapel to attend a worship service...
However, our scheduled guests didn't show. So the inmate who normally oversees and coordinates the service asked if I would come to the pulpit and give a brief exhortation from the Scriptures. I agreed, as I am always thankful for any opportunity to help when needed, be it putting out Bibles in the pews, or preaching.
After praying for wisdom and for God to use me, I spoke for approximately five minutes, where I read to the congregation one of my most often used verses: Galatians 6:9. Here the beloved apostle Paul, in order to encourage his fellow Christians, urged everyone never to become weary in serving the Lord. Because in all frankness, it is oftentimes easy to become weary and exhausted, frustrated and discouraged while doing the work of the ministry. And many of us know this to be true from experience.
Therefore, I reminded the men, as well as myself, that the Lord is faithful to strengthen and sustain us, as well as meet all our needs. That trials and difficulties are part of a disciple's life, and are not signs of failure. We are never to "throw in the towel," because with Christ in us, we are too strong in Him to quit.
