Paperwork often moves slowly through the bureaucratic maze of the prison system...
Back in June, I was told by my counselor that my security classification had been lowered from "Maximum A" to "Medium B," which was quite a drop (See my entry for June 13, 2012). Thus, it was a matter of waiting for word as to whether or not I would indeed be transferred. There's no time limit for such a decision to be rendered. So wait I did.
Anyhow, today my counselor, Ms. Bardford, told me that she received word from someone at the Department of Corrections' Movement and Classification section that my transfer was denied. I was pleased with the news, as I had no interest or desire to move on. Yet at the same time I had to be open to the possibility of such a thing coming to pass. After all, I've been at my present location for many years.
This also happened not too long ago when my security classification was lowered with the recommendation that I be considered for medium security. Nothing became of it, however. Therefore, for now, I will remain at Sullivan. End of matter.
