For God so loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should
not perish, but have everlasting life.

Afterwards, I will walk across the grounds to go to my afternoon job as an aide at the Intermediate Care Program (ICP Unit). This is a fancy title for the “E-North” housing unit where the men who have mental health issues live. Personally, I believe many of their problems are mostly spiritual in nature as opposed to simply being psychological. But this is another matter.
I have been working in E-North on and off for 20 or 21 years, and I believe the Lord put me here to be a light for Him, and to show these hurting men the love and mercy of God. After all, once upon a time I walked in their shoes, when my mind was a mess. Some of these guys will ask me for a Bible, or they ask me to pray for them. A few do attend chapel services regularly, and there are always many opportunities to talk to these men about spiritual matters. Each one is precious to the Lord. There are sixty-four inmates housed in E-North.
