Praying for Muslims

And Jesus said to His disciples,
Go into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature. 
Mark 16:15

The Bible makes it clear that Christians should be sharing the good news of salvation from our sins through faith in Jesus Christ with people from all walks of life, to include those of other religions...

Obviously, when the Lord died on the cross, He had me on His mind, even though I was once a very wicked man, and I was not worth saving. He most certainly had everyone else on His mind, too. And I believe the Lord longs to see Muslims come to Him for salvation, just as He does every Jew and Gentile. Why? Because a loving God is not willing that any should perish in an everlasting hell, but that all come to repentance, and be saved (2 Peter 3:9).

In fact, I've been reading in various Christian publications or hearing on Christian radio, that Muslims are coming to faith in Christ in droves. And this is happening in predominately Muslim nations, no less, where believers in Jesus are often harassed and persecuted. In these places, Christians are a minority, and it is unlawful for them to openly share their faith.

Therefore, as a Christian who longs to see others come to faith in Christ, it should be my task to pray that, somehow, Muslims will be reached with the Gospel so that many of them will choose to place their faith in Jesus instead of Allah, and thereby enter into the family of our wonderful God.
