Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
they shall prosper that love thee.
Psalm 122:6
It is sad to see what is going on in the Middle East…
they shall prosper that love thee.
Psalm 122:6
It is sad to see what is going on in the Middle East…
…as the nation of Israel and the members of the much feared terrorist group known as Hamas are again at war. My friends and I have been praying for peace. But I believe as well that there will be no lasting peace in the Middle East nor in the world until the Prince of Peace returns to establish His throne in Jerusalem.
Yes, it is good to pray for the "peace of Jerusalem," as Psalm 122:6 says to do. But I believe this Scripture has an even deeper meaning. It is really a call for the return of Israel's Messiah. That He would not only come to save the world from self-destruction, but would physically return to earth to establish His kingdom, as well as create a true and lasting peace that will endure for a thousand years. It will be a peace for all of humanity to enjoy.
Psalm 122 is a cry to God from both Jews and Gentiles who love Him and recognize Him as the God of all flesh. It is also a call for universal peace. It's a longing from the hearts and souls of a troubled humanity that want evil to come to an end. And according to many Scriptures that can be found in the both the Old and New Testament sections of the Bible, it will.
Yes, evil will be eradicated, and it will happen when Messiah Jesus comes to establish His kingdom. And in its place will be a cleansed and purified and renewed earth, and it will be beautiful.
Then He that sat on the throne said, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End..." (Revelation 21:6a).
