Many people think the Bible is mostly a book of moral and religious rules and ordinances...
Or they may think it to be a work of history bearing no relevance for modern society. But the Bible is also a prophetic book. Throughout its pages are numerous prophecies of Christ's first coming as a sacrifice for our sins, and about his second coming as well.
I believe this to be true. I also believe that within its pages, God reveals the things which must and will take place as the last generation of humanity comes to its close (see READY OR NOT). This will be when the Lord returns to put an end to Satan's reign and to establish His literal kingdom upon the earth. From this will come one thousand years of peace on earth and goodwill toward all mankind.
Throughout my years as a Jewish man who believes that Jesus is the Messiah and Savior of all who place their faith in Him, I have especially enjoyed learning of the prophecies that are in the Scriptures regarding his second coming. It could even happen in my lifetime.
There have been countless books about Jesus' return. But my favorite remains THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH by Hal Lindsey. Written way back in 1970, it was a national bestseller for a long time.
The copy I have is a paperback edition, which at the time was in its 26th printing. The book has obviously made its rounds, and I've no idea how many more printing runs it had since.
I would encourage everyone to try and get a copy of it. And With the things that are happening in the world today, I want to challenge the readers of my journal to seek out the many prophetic passages that are in the Bible (see prophesies about Jesus) and contemplate them with an open mind and an open heart.
