It has been a while since I gave an update about my dear friends Miss Goldie and Mister Orange...
I'm thankful for those who would write asking me about them. They're a great couple. They truly are. They grew up together and have been next to each other for hundreds of years. Miss Goldie and Mister Orange have a lot to teach us about the words, "till death do us part."
God only knows how many birds and squirrels they have entertained throughout the centuries. The birds finding shelter and a place to rest, while the squirrels, running up and down their trunks and across their branches, would tickle Miss Goldie and Mister Orange with the pitter-patter of their little feet.
With autumn now here, my friends have since come out of hiding. Over the summer, they hid themselves in plain sight. Dressed in their summer outfit of dark green, they were nearly impossible to spot. But now, oh my!
Here they come. Their green leaves have begun to change color. Now Miss Goldie and Mister Orange have once again begun the yearly process of undressing themselves from their summer's outfit of green, and replacing each of their leaves with their lustrous fall colors.
Within a few weeks from now, Miss Goldie will be fully dressed in her lovely golden-yellow apparel. While, a proud and regal Mister Orange will be arrayed in his fiery and intimidating outfit of bright orange. For Miss Goldie, it will be time to display her beauty. For Mister Orange, however, it will be the season for him to display his majestic strength.
