"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high Places"
Ephesians 6:10-12
Much could be said about the Devil...

Much could be said about the Devil...
I would rather say nothing about him, but to ignore the unpleasant reality of his existence would be unwise and cruel. It would be tantamount to criminal negligence. A frequent feature in movies and on television, and often presented in absurd, cartoonish and unbiblical ways, makes it difficult for many to believe that such an evil and exceedingly diabolical being really exists.
But according to the holy Scriptures which were written thousands of years ago, and are still believed by multitudes of people in modern times, the Devil, also commonly known by the names of Satan and Lucifer, is real. He is not a product of Hollywood, nor a creature featured in fairy tales.
According to the Bible, and even to Jesus Christ himself, the Devil is a legitimate foe and the father of all lies, mayhem and murder. He's not a myth. He is a monster with a plan to ultimately take as many souls as possible with him to Hell.
One might be surprised to learn just how many references there are in the Bible for the Devil as well as his evil cohorts who are oftentimes referred to as demons, or as unclean spirits, and more. So, to ignore or overlook this would be foolhardy. Especially in the times we're now living in where lawlessness and evil appear to be on the rise.
Therefore, as a believer in Jesus as my Messiah and Savior, I would encourage my fellow believers to become more familiar with the enemy of our souls. Not to the point of making it an obsession, however, but so as to better expose his works.
We need to be aware of how Satan tries to infiltrate churches by bringing in false doctrines, along with divisions and strife. He can even cause entire nations to go to war against each other. Death and destruction are his goals, and he has many ways to achieve these ends.
Yet, we never need to fear the Devil. God has given us everything we need to stand against him and expose his works of darkness. This is actually a scriptural mandate. "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices" (2 Corinthians 2:11).
