I've come to realize that my tree friends are big show-offs.
Miss Goldie likes to dress up in bright yellow. She loves the attention and thinks she's simply exquisite. A true glamour queen!
While Mister Orange, protector and defender that he is, shakes his limbs at me as an obvious warning to back off and stay away from Miss Goldie, with whom he has a crush on.
Surely Mister Orange doesn't think I would run off with her? Miss Goldie is almost twenty feet tall! They're both show-offs as far as I could tell. However, it's only a matter of time before their leaves begin to fall to the ground one by one, only to be swept away by the wind. No more pretty colors with which to attract human eyes.
Barrenness awaits them both. A long, cold winter looms ahead. And this will mean an end to flaunting their colorful autumn leaves. But I will be eagerly awaiting the start of spring when life begins anew.
