It's a beautiful Saturday morning...
A shining sun beckons me outdoors. I plan to head to the recreation yard this afternoon.
Earlier I wrote a letter to friends in Alabama whom I've known for many years. They've been faithfully sharing my story of redemption and hope with their church, as well as at a program for those who want to be set free from the power of narcotics. Opioids are everywhere these days, even in rural towns. My friends in Alabama know this firsthand.
As long as there are souls in bondage to Satan's devices, and lives that are being lost, it means the church still has work to do. Thankfully I have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit to empower me and carry me onward.
Christ has a job for every one of His followers. May my heart never fail as I carry out my mission. May my faith remain strong, and may I never lose hope no matter what comes my way from those who despise me.
The Lord Jesus had His persecutors, as well. Yet He dealt with them gracefully, and this was because He loved them. I hope to do the same.
