God’s word tells me to cast all my cares upon Him, because He cares for me (I Peter 5:7)...
And He really does! Nothing is too hard for the Lord. He can fix broken bodies, as well as mend broken hearts. In fact, one of Christ’s first proclamations, in addition to His universal call for repentance from sin, was that He came to heal the broken-hearted.
I shudder to think what my mental state would be today if not for Jesus the Messiah’s mercy. My heart is filled with love and gratitude for all the good things God has done for such an undeserving person as myself.
So I, therefore, want to echo what King David said in one of his songs to the Lord, “Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise Thee” (Psalm 63:3). While a few verses later, David declared, “Because Thou has been my help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice” (Psalm 63:7).
