God is at work behind the walls and fences of prisons...
He is touching hearts, saving souls, breaking bondages, reuniting families, mending broken hearts, and more. Truly, the Lord is good. His mercy endures forever.
And some of His goodness and mercy was experienced during last night’s Bible study in the chapel. Thirteen of us were present, including myself. In addition to our scheduled study which was conducted by a fellow prisoner, we also joined together to partake of the Lord’s supper, commonly known as Holy Communion.
It was a time for introspection and soul-searching. Yet it was a joyful time, as well. We sang songs, read Scriptures, and spent time contemplating what Messiah Jesus did for us when He took our place on the cross. He shed His sinless blood to pay for our sins.
Christ’s death as the Lamb of God, and His resurrection as a conquering King, was a monumental event. Oh, the glory which belongs to Jesus!
