"Christ has come to this prison to summon forth and fix broken men."

Today was the last day of our four-day Kairos gathering...
Overall, it went well other than a few glitches. I know the men were grateful for the opportunity and privilege to attend the event. Then, in the afternoon and shortly after the lunch meal was served, about twenty wives of the two-dozen civilian male visitors were allowed to join everyone. So we had a full house in the prison's gymnasium.
As for myself, I was asked by the director of the Kairos ministry team to give the closing speech before the event was to end, and our guests were to leave. It was both a surprise and honor to do so, although I was nervous to have to address almost one hundred people, half of who were residents of the local area.
I asked the Lord for the wisdom as to what to say. I thanked everyone from the Kairos ministry for volunteering their time to spend four days with us. I also thanked the prison's staff for allowing the event to take place. And I thanked the 45 or so inmates for being well-behaved while being in the presence of our outside visitors.
Lord willing, I hope to share more of my five to six-minute closing message tomorrow, or soon thereafter. God blessed us this weekend.
