Recently I have begun to correspond with a man who hosts a radio show out of New York City

As a man who holds deeply religious views, he is concerned about America. So am I. In a letter I wrote to Mr. Metaxas just this morning, I said:
"Hope all is well with you. I'm sure you're busy, especially during this season of elections and
uncertainty concerning our nation. I have been praying for our nation, as are many believers,
I'm sure. May God's will be done. Sometimes it may take a national tragedy or series of tragedies
before we wake up to the seriousness of the times, and begin, as one nation, to call upon the Lord.
Like Israel of old, it may take chastenings and judgments before people turn to the Lord for help
and divine guidance, as the guidance of politicians, will prove to be useless (Psalm 118:8,9). 'The
wicked will be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God' (Psalm 9:17). God's word is
very straightforward!"
