It's been a lovely three-day fall weekend here in New York...
The weather has been perfect. Thing is, for me, I have been stuck in my cell for the past three days because my medical condition has gotten worse again. This time it has affected my right knee. The kneecap and surrounding area is hideously swollen, and I could barely walk.
Therefore, this Tuesday, I will be going to the hospital to be checked out by the doctor. Normally I'd have gone today, but it's Columbus Day and there's no regular sick call as only a limited medical staff is on duty for the holiday.
More than likely I am going to be admitted. And depending on how quickly I heal, I may be in the hospital for a week or two as this looks like a bad staph infection. But there's always the possibility I will be allowed to heal in my cell and take antibiotics and the other required medications on my own. I could be confined to my cell for medical reasons, and this would work best for me, as I would have access to my typewriter. We'll see what happens.
I am, however, deeply troubled, as I thought I was over this problem. But the swellings and infections keep reoccurring, and they're recurring at shorter intervals than they have in the past.
Very frustrating! I have too much to do to be laid up in a barren hospital room. I was stuck in the hospital for four days in early August, which I wrote about in my journal. I hope I don't have to go through this again; it looks as if I will.
