I thank God for every person who has ever said a prayer for me and my family, and for the church that's behind prison walls...
Most of all, I thank my heavenly Father for the gift of eternal life. It's a gift the world cannot give or take away.
As the Bible declares, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Therefore, while society handed me the well-deserved sentence of life in prison, God has since given me the sentence of eternal life, which is undeserved. And whereas my prison sentence will end when I die, the sentence of eternal life will go on forever. Praise the Lord!
