Earlier today, I happened to run into Ahmed...
We were able to speak for a few minutes before having to go our separate ways, as Ahmed lives in a different housing area. I therefore seldom get to see him. However, I was able to ask how his mother and brother are doing, since the Christian prayer group I belong to prayed for them a few weeks earlier.
Ahmed was all smiles as he told me his mother is doing much better. I was happy at the news. But as for his wayward brother, Ahmed said he's still running the streets and remains enmeshed in a gang. But added that he got to speak with him the last time he called home.
Ahmed told his younger brother how he asked the church at Sullivan to pray for him. His brother said, "Thank you." I then told Ahmed, "Hey, it's a good start. He knows you care. God has heard your prayers." Ahmed seemed pleased. It's been a good day!
