My son, do not forget My law, but
let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
and peace they will add to you.

Proverbs 3:1-2
As I continue to go through a season of mysterious ailments and chronic fatigue, God has been teaching me some precious lessons...
First, that He is always merciful. My suffering and pain, and even my high blood pressure, will not last forever. Second, God gives strength to His children. His grace is always sufficient for any situation. Neither has He left me alone to struggle in my own strength. Third, because the Lord is loving and tenderhearted, He permits me to rest in His presence and to maintain a mind that's continually at peace.
Fourth, I cannot please everyone, and I am foolish to even try. Such efforts would be in vain. I simply cannot please and satisfy those who insist on my always having to stay busy as if I were merely on overly engaged worker ant, or a bee. And, fifth, that Jesus will not forsake me in my times of weakness and exhaustion. He will never reject me. Instead, Christ will carry me in His loving arms as a shepherd would carry a wounded, weary lamb. He is forever compassionate.
Yes, these are precious lessons, indeed.
