Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.
Who forgives all your sins, and heals all your diseases.
Psalm 103:2-3
It tried to kill me...

Of this I have no doubt. Not to be overly dramatic, but that mysterious "superbug," which became entrenched in my lungs and nasal passages touching off a two-month battle inside me, was pure evil. It crept upon me slowly, as the flu usually does. A few sneezes here and there. An annoying cough that starts off as a mild irritation. A sore throat that begins as a minor nuisance but gets worse to where it hurts to swallow or speak. This is how it began.
Thankfully, I am over it now. I never had a fever. I continued to work at my job as well as attend our chapel services and Bible studies, even with a bad cough and lots of phlegm in my lungs and nasal passages. I was in a state of constant fatigue, too. Some days, I was so exhausted that even writing a letter took a couple of hours to complete.
I cannot not remember being so sick. But it's now in the past. My strength is coming back, and my energy as well. For someone who is always on the go, having to slow the pace down was frustrating.
Now it's only a matter of catching up on the things I fell behind with. By the mercy of God, that nasty bug has been defeated. Again, the devil failed in his attempts to take me down, thus once more proving God's words to be true. "No weapon that is formed against a child of God shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17).
