And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to His purpose.

I have chosen to believe what the Word of God declares. All things will ultimately work out for the good to those who love the Lord. Even during this time of incarceration and all the hardships that come along with a prison sentence, God is working everything out for my good.
It's true. No matter what I have to endure, even if most of my problems have been brought on by my past crimes, nothing can be compared to the glory that awaits me when I see Jesus. What a day of rejoicing it will be. Even now, I can experience the joy of the Lord. "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory (and joy) which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18).
Therefore, in the time I am living in now, I need to hang on to God's every word. For it is not the things I see going on all around me that matter, but what the Lord is doing behind the scenes which really counts. As the Scripture declares, "In all these things we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us" (Romans 8:37).
Thus, in every challenging situation that I face, and no matter how bad things may seem, God already knows all about it. So I don't have to sweat it. I know that everything will turn out okay. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31).
And what I've written here applies to every person who has placed his or her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. So, dear Christian, be at peace. Have faith in our heavenly Father. He will see us through every storm. I know He will. He's a trustworthy God who has carried me through more than forty years of imprisonment.
