Early Snow

The storm caught many New Yorkers off guard. In New York City, traffic was almost at a standstill and people were stranded in buses and in train stations as well.

Now there’s plenty of snow to shovel in our recreation yard here at the prison. Normally, I’d be one of the first to volunteer to help clear the yard of snow. However, being that I had a heart attack less than a year ago, I didn’t volunteer now.

But winter will be around for a while. So I’m sure I will have opportunities to shovel after the new year. If so, I’ll be very cautious, taking it slow and easy. Shoveling snow is too much fun to pass up. It’s a good stress reliever, too.
