Several weeks ago the Chaplain’s clerk was relieved of his duties by the prison’s administration simply because he’d been at his job for about eleven years and they felt he had become too familiar with his surroundings...
But if someone worked at the same job and sat at the same desk for this amount of time, why wouldn’t he become familiar with his work area? My chaplain pleaded with them not to take his assistant, but to no avail.
Our former chaplain’s aide is a brother in Christ and was an excellent worker. He’s fully devoted to the Lord, and did his job well. He will, however, continue to teach a weekly Bible class which he’s been doing for the past several years. But he’s no longer allowed to assist the chaplain with paperwork and other related tasks.
Without an assistant in the office, the chaplain asked me to be his clerk. I wasn’t happy about it, but I have to obey the chaplain, who’s the pastor, as well. Now I’m stuck in a small office with lots of paperwork, and lots of stress. “Lord, help!”
