Sometimes various news reports, articles, or television shows will come out about me that I will be initially unaware of...
But within a short time, I will find out about these things, oftentimes through strangers who'd write and tell me about it.
Yet I have close friends who love and care about me, and would come upon something by chance, but would purposely not tell me about it. I know it's their way of trying to shield and insulate me from what they feel would upset and trouble me. However, I have told them many times that I want to know. That they should always tell me about what they have watched or read, be it good or bad.
I don't like to be kept in the dark. So as much as is possible for someone in confinement who has limited access to many things, I'd prefer to know what's going on and what is being said.
I don't believe in hiding in a protective bubble. No one should hide from reality. So I insist on knowing. This way, at least I could respond to any incorrect information that may come out and correct it, or at least I could try to.
I want to stay on top of things when it comes to the media, as it concerns me. Thankfully, my friends have been getting better at keeping me informed, and I'm grateful.
