The Lord is always faithful to impart to me the necessary amounts of strength and faith needed to serve Him behind prison walls...
And even during the times when I find myself in some kind of spiritual rut where nothing seems to be happening within the realms of ministry and outreach, the Lord will remind me through the Scriptures that His plan for me is still being worked out.
It has taken awhile for me to understand this, but the Lord is not only concerned with my works of Christian service and ministry, but with my inward development and growth as His child. And this is true for every Christian. Even when little or nothing appears to be happening on the outside, the Lord is busy at work on the inside, developing in me Christian character and things like patience, hope, trust and holiness.
Being reminded of these things helped uplift my spirit. God is always at work on the inside, and this may even be more important than the activities of ministry and works of service.
