One of the obvious reasons why my strength is at such a low level these days is because I usually allow others to place too much on me...
Always feeling the need to be a "Mister Helpful," and by nature being an insecure approval seeker, I've always had trouble with saying the word, "No." But, little by little, God is teaching me how to use this necessary word more often, while in a graceful and kind manner, too.
It's been a learning process, and a challenge. Frankly, I'm learning the hard way that I'm not a "Super Christian" or a spiritual Superman. My brethren are likewise (and thankfully) discovering this truth about me, as well.
The days of pedestal placing must end. I've been crying out for deliverance from this for a long time. In other words, I am deeply grieved and troubled whenever another well-meaning Christian tries to lift me up above who I really am. I am not a super saint. I am only a flesh and blood human being with lots of weaknesses and failings. I am far from perfect. And my present state of continued exhaustion is surely evidence of this.
But in Christ I have the victory. Therefore, by God's grace, I seek to better understand how to be led and guided by Him. It's the Holy Spirit who is teaching me when to say no, and not feel guilty about it.
