I am seeing many signs that I need to slow the pace down and get more rest...
I've experienced some unusual trials in the past several months which warranted more hours of staying up late to pray. There were also other situations that needed to be addressed and attended to, and they were. Thankfully, things turned out well.
Yet, the trials and tribulations one goes through in life do take their physical and emotional tolls. Experiencing weariness is common. While in my case, I've had periods of exhaustion, too. But as God's word promises, He is more than able to renew my strength while giving me a spiritual recharge as well. And that is what He's doing with me now.
My God is a good shepherd. He knows when to make me to lie down and be still. And if anyone knows how naturally hyperactive I am, getting me to slow down and be still is no easy task. But the Lord is a lot stronger than I am. So, resisting Him is impossible.
Honestly, sometimes I've had to learn this the hard way. High-strung overachievers and workaholics, like me, are no match for a Shepherd like Jesus. He knows how to control the reigns. To this, I say, "Amen!"
