Children are a gift from the Lord;
They are a reward from him.

Finally!
They are a reward from him.

Finally!
After several years of restrictions due to Covid, our annual Christian Family Day event got underway today. It took much praying and planning, but it happened, and it was great.
About eighty people were in attendance. Prisoners with wives and children, or with their parents or other
members of their respective families, were all gathered together in the prison's gymnasium for the five-hour event. It was a joy to see so many smiling faces on this Pentecost Sunday.
Not everyone had a member of his family present, however. I didn't. But that was okay. I was happy helping to set things up as well as being there to meet the families of the men I'm doing time with. I had also been asked by the chaplain beforehand to say a public prayer for everyone in attendance.
We had our inmate choir sing a handful of Gospel songs, and our two volunteer ministers who were also
in attendance were able to each give everyone some words of encouragement. These volunteers are men
who, on their own time, come into Shawangunk Correctional facility to teach us the Word of God.
All said, it was a day of rejoicing for everyone. I was happy to have met the families of my fellow brothers in Christ. For me, this was a privilege and a pleasure.
