I could not be happier...
My friends are back in bloom. My beloved Miss Goldie and her mate of hundreds of years, Mister Orange, now have their branches full of lush green leaves. I'm singing for joy.
It happened almost overnight. Spring was behind schedule. While the calendar said it was to officially start on March 20th, nature had another plan. Just as fall came early last year, spring arrived late this year.
Last fall, the cold weather arrived earlier than usual. This caused the leaves of my tree friends to come off their branches before they could achieve their fullest level of exquisite beauty. I was so disappointed.
While this year, with spring's late arrival, my friends were left barren. But alas, they've now awakened from a long solstice of sleep, and so have all their neighbors. Hopefully, however, by summer's end they will again begin to turn their green leaves into their finest autumn outfits.
Come fall I want to see Miss Goldie dressed in her glorious golden-yellow colors outshining, as always, all the other trees in the woods; I know they're jealous of her. As for Mister Orange, may he get to display his garment of stunningly regal orange leaves, which continually garners the respect and admiration of his peers.
My beloved Miss Goldie and Mister Orange were made to be seen and admired. I'd like to think God made them just for me.
