For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and
this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

In spite of strong opposition and the devil's attempts at intimidation…

1 John 5:4
In spite of strong opposition and the devil's attempts at intimidation…
I continue to press forward with my goal of serving the Lord. I am an overcomer. I am victorious, and I am headed towards the Promised Land.
I am saying this as a means of encouraging myself. King David did this very same thing when he was in deep distress. His enemy, the Amalekites, had overrun the land and kidnapped David's wives along with the wives and children of his soldiers. In fact, the situation was so grievous that his own troops were even thinking of stoning him to death.
David was heartbroken, and he was worried about his own family as well. So, what was the first thing he did? As the Scriptures declare, "David encouraged himself in the Lord” (1 Samuel 30:6).
He wasn't having a pity party. He didn't think of running away. He didn't give in to depression and despair. David prayed, instead. He called upon the Lord and inquired as to what he should do.
Without hesitation, the Lord spoke to His servant. He told David, "Pursue!" And that is what he did. David went after his enemies. He and his army of four hundred fighting men rescued their wives and children from the hands of their oppressors.
King David was an overcomer. And so am I. In my situation, however, Satan has been trying to kidnap my story of forgiveness, redemption, and hope. He doesn't want the world to know that God can forgive even the worst of sinners. He can also deliver and free all who are enslaved by Satan, which is exactly what Jesus did for me.
God spared my life. He has done it many times. He saved me from Satan's snares. He's forgiven all my sins and filled my heart with joy, peace, and hope. Although many are against me because of the crimes I committed, and because they do not understand the dark satanic aspects that were behind my actions, I will nevertheless continue to proclaim the goodness of a merciful Savior no matter how much opposition I must face.
I will say along with David, the beloved psalmist and former king of Israel, "Come and hear, all ye that honor God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul" (Psalm 66:16). "The Lord is my light and my salvation. The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1).
The Lord's words to me were, "David, my son, I am always with you, and I love you. You must never turn back, nor give up. Keep going forward. Pursue your dreams until you fulfill your destiny.”
