This past Sunday, we had a medical emergency in the prison's chapel...
Shortly before our worship service was to begin, my chaplain began to feel ill while sitting in his office. When I went into the office, which I would routinely do in order to inquire as to what he wants done, I found him slumped in his chair moaning in obvious pain.
I was about to turn around and run down the corridor to alert the guard who was stationed at his post about one hundred feet away, when my chaplain managed to grab his telephone and call for help on his own. A wheelchair was dispatched to the chapel, and the guards then took him to the Infirmary.
Once he was in the prison's Infirmary, an ambulance was called. He ended up being sent to the local hospital. And as of today, we are still awaiting word on his condition. The entire congregation is keeping our pastor in our prayers.
