"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall
strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."
Psalm 27:14
This particular verse from the Psalms is one of my favorites…
strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."
Psalm 27:14
This particular verse from the Psalms is one of my favorites…
The writer, King David, begins it by saying, "Wait on the Lord," but then repeats himself at the end of the verse by again saying, "Wait, I say, on the Lord." Why?
I think this is God's way of highlighting something that He considers to be very important. I've heard it said that it takes a greater measure of faith to wait upon the Lord, than to move ahead.
We are by nature are impatient people. To wait for something, and maybe even having to wait for it for many years, is a test of one's patience. But when the waiting is from the Lord, it will be well worth it. I'm writing from experience. I've been guilty of being impatient at times, and I paid a dear price as a result. My advice? To echo the words of King David, "Wait, I say, on the Lord."
