For thus says the Lord of hosts; Yet once, in a little while,
and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea,
and the dry land; And I will shake the nations...
Haggai 2:6-7a

The tragic and needless death of a black man while being detained by police officers in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, has become a catalyst for social unrest and destruction on a nation-wide scale. What began as peaceful protests, quickly escalated into wide-spread looting, arson, violence and unprecedented devastation in many cities throughout the land.
It's more than just pent-up rage, and pain. It's more than intense feelings at what many perceive to be prolonged injustices upon minorities. These things exist, and they are serious issues that need to be addressed, but what has come upon the United States of America, is what I would refer to as a "spirit of lawlessness."
Prolonged, festering anger, on the part of many, has opened a door for Satan. "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:26-27). As the holy Bible teaches, anger that has not been properly dealt with, can become hatred. Hatred can then morph into a boiling rage. And rage can explode into violence.
There's more to it, of course, but what is obvious to me, is that our nation is undergoing an upheaval. Between the entry of the Coronavirus into humanity, and the fear it has created in many hearts, and the economic fallout from the loss of jobs directly related to this pandemic; and the civil unrest that's now happening in many places, America is being shaken to its roots.
God is using this as an opportunity to awaken a sleeping church that she has a mission to complete. He is using these events to awaken mankind to the reality that no one will live on this earth forever, and that we need to place our faith in Him.
As the Scripture declares with authority, "Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else" (Isaiah 45:22).
