I have been busy doing my clerical work in the chapel along with other job-related tasks, like taking out the garbage and dusting the shelves...
But one of my unofficial roles as the chaplain’s clerk is trying to keep the peace among disagreeing Christians.
Yes, we go through the same things churches on the outside face at times - spats, and infighting, jealousy, selfishness, members angry with the pastor at something he said or did, or lacking in brotherly love.
So, just as it was for me at my previous facility, I have become one of our congregation’s peacemakers and problem solvers. But it’s really the Lord Jesus who is the true Peacemaker and Problem Solver. I’ve got my own flaws and shortcomings. There’s no perfect church here on earth. Like everyone who professes to have faith in Christ, I’m a work in progress.
