You keep track of all my sorrows. You
have collected all my tears in Your Bottle.
You have recorded each one in Your book.
Psalm 56:8 NLT
A friend whom I have known for many years recently lost her daughter who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly...
have collected all my tears in Your Bottle.

Psalm 56:8 NLT
A friend whom I have known for many years recently lost her daughter who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly...
Her mother is devastated.
In a letter to my friend, I said it’s okay to cry. That Jesus is collecting her tears and storing them in bottles. This is an interesting expression that’s found in the Psalms. God collecting our tears and recording them in a book? Yes, the Scriptures declare it to be true.
I went on to tell her that when we get to heaven, the Lord will show us that even in our darkest days, when many tears were shed, the Lord knew all about it. That those bottles will serve as reminders of how much pain, grief, and sorrow we had to put up with on earth. Hardships we endured that will never be repeated, relived or remembered again.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4). In heaven, I believe, the only tears we’ll know are tears of joy, praise, and thanksgiving.
