But ye be glad and rejoice forever in that which
I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem
a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

It was formerly in the city of Tel Aviv. Jerusalem has now been declared the official capital of Israel, as well.
On May 14 it will make seventy years that Israel was officially recognized as a nation. While Israel existed as a nation back in biblical times, then came the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, which caused many Jews to scatter throughout the nations.
Now, centuries later, when the United Nations called for the re-establishment of Israel as a nation in 1948, the Jewish people now had a homeland to call their own, and to return to if they wished.
As we all know, today the Middle East is a powder keg which experiences periodic border skirmishes between its neighbors the Palestinians, and outright wars too. But one day, as the Scriptures declare in numerous places within its pages, that Jerusalem is destined to be the dwelling place of Israel’s Messiah, and a joy to all peoples. I long to see it.
