For the Son of man is come to seek
and to save that which was lost.

These places of incarceration and confinement contain tens of thousands of men and women whose lives have been damaged by sin, and by their bad choices. But the good news is that Christ came to save them from their sins, and He seeks them out one by one.
The truth is, Jesus died for sinners like me. He gave His life for humanity. He paid for my sins with His own blood. Jesus took upon himself the punishment that I deserve. What mercy! What love!
He did not give His life for those who think they’re good enough for heaven, but for those who know they’ve been bad enough to deserve Hell.
I know that, if not for the Lord’s intervention, I don’t believe I’d be alive today. Before I received Jesus as my Savior, I was plagued with thoughts of suicide. I was, too, bound by the powers of satanic darkness to have escaped its grip upon my life by my own strength.
It was the Lord who came as the great Intervener. He rescued me from destruction with His strong, loving arms. I’m thankful!
