But God has demonstrated His love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Usually, when we think of prison ministry, we think of Christians going into jails and prisons to share God's love with those who are incarcerated, and to provide them with the good news about God's free gift of salvation through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, the reverse is true, as well.
Throughout my years of imprisonment, I have seen men who have been gloriously "saved" and born again while behind the walls, tenaciously sharing their new-found faith with their families. And I know of many instances of men who have, through letters and phone calls, won over their loved ones to the faith. Whereas now, wives and children, or other members of one's family have begun to attend a local church or Bible study group.
Just as the gospel goes into correctional facilities, it also goes back out, allowing many to learn of Christ's love for them, along with God's wonderful plan of salvation. Surprisingly, however, this aspect of prison ministry is seldom considered. Yet it's both real and amazing. It's an often overlooked benefit of prison ministry work.
