For He satisfies the longing soul, and
fills the hungry soul with goodness.
Psalm 107:9
Today the preacher spoke on the hunger of the human soul...
fills the hungry soul with goodness.
Psalm 107:9
Today the preacher spoke on the hunger of the human soul...
...that it can only be satisfied by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
He began the message by reading from portions of Psalm 42. The writer of the psalm, King David, had obviously been going through a time of despair. He cried, "O my God, my soul is cast down within me" (Psalm 42:6). Then David began to recall to his mind the goodness of his God. He remembered that the Lord faithfully commands His lovingkindness to His children in the daytime, and sings words of comfort and hope to them in the night (see Psalm 42:8).
Later, the preacher went to several other passages that deal with the soul. He spoke about the wounded soul and how it can only be healed by Jesus himself. No human doctor, nor any well-intentioned person, can heal and restore a hurting soul. No mere mortal can quench its thirst.
Amen!
