Not that I speak in respect of want:
for I have learned in whatever state I am,
therewith to be content.

Even in the most difficult of situations he was able to learn contentment. But to be honest, I'm not there yet. Abruptly having to leave Sullivan Correctional Facility, having been there for twenty-eight years and not having the chance to say goodbye to all my friends in the faith, plus knowing I may never see any of them again, has been traumatic and emotionally devastating. Nevertheless I do believe that at some point I will get over it.
The reality is that contentment has to be learned. It doesn't necessarily come overnight. And with some things and in some ways I confess to being a slow learner. Most of all, I know that my deepest contentment is in knowing Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Knowing Him as my Shepherd, as well. So I'll be fine.
