This is the day which the Lord has made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
This has been a busy month for me with several serious personal challenges...
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
This has been a busy month for me with several serious personal challenges...
...and some solid spiritual victories as well. But trials and tests are to be expected because, as God's word declares, "...all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12).
But aside from my daily challenges and the work of the ministry, I was surprised by the very limited amount of snow we received in my area of New York State this past winter. For the second year in a row, we broke the records for the least amount of snow fall. And for a guy who likes the snow, it was something of a disappointment. In fact, we also had very few single digit days this winter, which was also strange.
However, none of this affected my tree friends. Although March brought with it many chilly days, as the warmer weather approaches, Miss Goldie and Mister Orange are beginning to stir. The winter solstice is coming to its end and the sun's rays are getting stronger.
For me, this is good news. My tree friends are awakening to a new year. Spring is officially here. Soon they will be spending the summer covered with lush green leaves clinging to strong, healthy branches. And finally, autumn, where my friends will work their magic with an array of reds, browns, yellows, oranges, and gold. Oh, yeah! It doesn’t get any better than that!
