And let us run with patience
the race that is set before us...
Hebrews 12:1-2

The Scriptures advise every follower of Messiah Jesus to keep his spiritual eyes upon Him, as He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. In addition, for me to run well and finish what the Bible likens to a race, I will need patience.
Why patience? Because the journey I'm on requires lots of it. Just ask any Christian who's been serving the Lord for a long time. There will be obstacles, hindrances, opposition, seasons of discouragement, and all kinds of challenges for those who have decided to follow Jesus.
But all these things, as negative as they may seem at first, are only stepping-stones to spiritual maturity and inner growth. They will be used by my heavenly Father to shape and mold me into the kind of person He wants me to be, a man who has strong faith, is wise, thoughtful, and kindhearted.
The Bible assures me that I am "more than a conqueror" through my Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:37). "I can do all things through Christ, who gives me the strength" (Philippians 4:13). He will "never leave me, nor forsake me" (Hebrews 13:5). Therefore, I can say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Hebrews 13:6).
God's word for me today is, "Run Well. Don't quit. Do not allow despair and discouragement or setbacks to stop you. I have given you everything you need to win. I am with you always. So, rejoice and press on."
