And this is the condemnation, that light is come into
the world, and men loved the darkness rather than
the light, because their deeds were evil.

Just the thought of having to revisit those terrible and tragic "Son of Sam" murders, sickens me. It's a nightmare that never ends.
It troubles me, that in the name of entertainment, the public will be asked to continue drinking from this dark, poisonous cup. When, in my view, the better story of forgiveness and redemption is ignored. The message of hope that even the most troubled individuals can be redeemed and restored, and made into useful and productive citizens, gets tossed aside for the sake of financial gain.
One would think that in the troubled times we live in, society would benefit from hearing and seeing more stories of hope, of people who have overcome lives of despair and ruin. Then again, it may be that the majority of people love the darkness. They love evil. They crave the sight of people in pain, and they rejoice inwardly when they see the devastating toll that crime takes.
Christ's words have once again proven to be true. When men have the chance to choose between good and evil, most choose to delight in evil.
