A few days ago, all kinds of rumors were circulating that the facility was headed for a lockdown...
It was everyone's guess if it would be something extensive, or just a few days in length. On Thursday, all the students in our college program, plus other call-outs, were ordered to return to our respective housing areas. It was the same yesterday.
While today, a Saturday, I had a visit with two good friends of mine, Mark and Leon. When visiting hours ended, and I reported to the "strip search" area to disrobe, the officers were talking amongst each other that after today the visiting room will be closed until further notice. It was sad to learn this. Yet at the same time, I silently thanked the Lord for allowing me to have a visit when I did. When I returned to my cell block, another officer was in the process of posting an official memo on our community bulletin board informing us that visits will not be allowed until April 23. And this will depend on how the virus either continues to spread, or if it slows. We'll see.
