As of March, 1st, I’m back in the hospital...
Because I’m on heavy doses of blood thinners, I suddenly developed a case of internal bleeding. I’ve been in the hospital for a week now, but believe I’ll be going back to Shawangunk shortly.
Thankfully, the bleeding has stopped. I even needed a blood transfusion, which was a first for me. It was an interesting experience to watch as bags of blood donated by strangers dripped down an intravenous tube, and into my forearm. I could not help but think of Christ’s blood as it dripped to the ground while He hung on a splintery cross.
Christ gave His own blood, willingly, as payment for my sins. His shed blood has also allowed me to possess the gift of eternal life.
To think that two unknown individuals gave their own blood, so I could live another day, is humbling. May God bless them.
